My Sister's Painting

My little sister drew me a painting. The parrots are carrying the house above the ocean and the little girl in it is me. I love it so much! She's only 13, and allready so talented.

New Make-up Storage System!

My make-up was always scattared all over the place with bins on the floor. As soon as I saw this gem at Costco, I had to have it! To my surprise, it was only $25 which is like the price of one MAC beauty powder. I love the multicolored bins on wheels, and how I can place my other stuff on top as well. I sold alot of my make-up, I want to keep items that I actually use so I have several free bins and my makeup collection looks so small now! I took some pics of my makeup stash but forgot the eyeshadows, lipgloss and the brushes, but I will post those later.

My favourite bin- my blushes!! I can't get enough of these.

My all time favourite high-lighter Lightscapade is missing. It's prolly in the bathroom.

What the hell, I love all my bins! haha

Piggies are what got me into MAC, so sad they don't produce them like this anymore!

I love Spring!

This is not macro. I took these using the zoom feature from my window and added some violet tones in photoshop.

I think my favourite season after summer is Spring. I just love cherry blossoms and how everything comes alive and the animals become horny. haha. I got a new camera, a Canon SX 20 IS and Ive been testing it out. 12 mega pixels is quite an upgrade from my old 4 mega pixel one. I love the 20x zoom on it too. Here are some pics I took.

I love pink petals on the street or when they flutter down the trees like snow.

Isn't it nice how little things can give you a warm feeling?

Smoke & Diamonds Look

I am sick and so piled up in homework and exams so haven't had much time for blogging lately but I wanted to do a look. I am happy that my math exam was easy. I desaturated the pics in order to get rid of alot of yellow tones from the lighting which kinda got rid of some other colors like the teal Birds & Berries which I have been wearing every day lately. I loved the look though.

I used:

Revlon Colorstay foundation in ivory
UDDP base
MAC Smoke & Diamonds all over lid with Birds & Berries in crease
Forgot to use highlighting color
Dirty Plum Blush brushed on lightly with the #187 brush
$5 Lipstick by PURE called Flamingo. It literally smells like a barbie doll!
Some other ones I got on sale were very strawberry smelling. I love nicely scented lipsticks!
Tarte Mascara in the purple tube - I didn't wear any eyeliner on my top lash and I really like how I don't feel like I need to with a good mascara like this.

Nightmares of the Night II

So I had a bunch of weird dreams again and thought Id record them here.

I had a dream that I went back to school and someone spread a rumor that I slept with some midget guy so I chopped off their head and the head transformed into a gross fish which was flapping around on the cold high-school bathroom floor...

Another dream I had that there was little tiny rat babies all over my house. They was very hard to see so they kind of looked like bugs crawling on the carpect. They was so tiny and there was so many of them and I kept picking them and putting them in a cage but they kept mating and kept getting out so my whole house was filled with them and they were beyond my control.

This last one which actually made me wake up with a scream was that I was sitting on my bed in the dark and there is some really loud heavy metal music playing outside my room. Somehow, I feel like something is happening there but the loud music is covering it up. Then, all of a sudden, a nurse runs into my room with a knife at me, and then I woke up.

Where does this crap all come from?

Alice in Wonderland Movie Review

Introducing the magical ball of wonder which will make all your dreams come true for only $2! Not really.

I saw the Alice in Wonderland movie on Friday. I generally don't like to wait in line for movies so I avoid going when they first come out but Alice was obviously an exception. I did like it alot but it wasn't as perfect as it should have been. All the characters were introduced way too quickly and there wasn't enough of the magical whimsical feel I wanted it to have. Being in 3-D, I expected to feel like I was Alice wandering through this magical place blombastered by all the beautiful imagery around me. Sort of like I was in a dreaming lucid state which is how I felt in Avatar but it didn't have that. The 3d of the environments really wasn't all that great, and was kinda blurry.
I loved his visions of alot of the characters such as the Red Queen with her big head and piggy cushion which I think was awesome. I also loved the cat with its teal stripes which is excatly how I would have made him and the crazy laughing rabbit.
I really did not like the caterpillar at all, I think his personality and tone of voice was way cooler in the original Alice. What I also found odd is he was teal but in the Alice UD pallete, "Absolem" is green. I also loved the twin "fat boys". Overall, it was a good movie which is definately worth seeing and I am getting it when it comes out on DVD. But somehow it just left me wanting more.

MAC Liberty of London Review

I was walking on Robson st and had no intention of going to MAC but then I saw the Liberty of London stand through the window and ran right in. I love this collection and the birdy packaging. I went to MAC twice in one day to complete my haul and the same MA was laughing how she didn't expect to see me back so soon. My bf was shaking his head at me and I was called the liberty of london girl by another MA. haha.

What I found very different in the packaging is on the beauty powders and blushes the top middle part pertrude up. I am not sure if they did that for the style or because it was cheaper to produce. There are no stickers though so that's a plus.

I absolutely LOVED both the blushes. Prim & Proper is a gorgeous peach that looks slightly pink on me. It's more matte for me than it is shimmery but it still manages to give a pretty glow. It's the peachy color that I was looking for.

Dirty Plum is absolutely gorgeous as well. It looks way better on the skin than it does in the pan. Both the blushes are neither muddy or dirty. I was concerned how the satin formula of the blushes would apply as all my other MAC blushes are sheertone shimmers. The finish is between matte and shimmery and it looks really good. They just take a bit more effort to blend but with a soft buffing brush such as the MUFE one, it's no problem at all. I am a total blush whore and have so many blushes but these are unique to my collection. I think they would suit all skintones. Don't be afraid by how dark Dirty Plum looks if your white as snow like me. A good buffing brush and a light hand is all you need...

Next the eye-shadows! I love love Birds & Berries. It a very pretty dark teal that doesn't look frosty on the eye. I wore it all over my lid with some mascara today and really liked it. It's not like any teal I have. I got Bough Grey but upon application it dissapointed me. I felt like I had to pack it on and pull on my lid to get it to show up. I just hate the texture of it. I was excited by it being a grey-green but it just looked like a dull ordinary grey. I will probably exchange it for dame's desire.

I usually hate beauty powders such as Summer Rose. It's just so unpigmented and chalky which I don't find good enough to use as a blush and doesn't do anything applied all over my face. They are also more expensive than a blush so I just don't see the point. However, I love Shell Pearl and I think all pale girls need this. I dusted it all over my face with a kabuki brush and it gave such a pretty subtle glow. It's is pearly and slightly pink which I love.

Blooming Lovely is the only lipstick that appealed to me in the collection. I can't quite describe the color but it's nothing like Lavender Whip or Fashion Mews. It's a mauvey color that is super pretty. It looks very subtle on the lips and I love the amplified finish which is super creamy. I recall Ever Hip l/s being too sheer.

The bag is one of my fav items. I love the design with the bird. It's funny, when I first saw the design I wasn't crazy about it probably because I envisioned it completely different in my head but now I love the it. At home, I noticed a resemblance to my other make-up bag by Fluff. It even has the same type of flower on the zipper. The Fluff one was half the price and it is definately more durable. The MAC bag looks great but I feel they skimmed a bit on quality. I wish there was another layer on the inside of it which prevents the bag from getting dirty from the cosmetics but there's isn't. Oh well, it still makes me happy.

My kitty claimed the bag to be hers. hehe

My bird Babette also approves of this collection. She looks so sweet but will boss around her big parrot neighbours.

The stand-outs from this collection are Prim & Proper, Shell Pearl, Birds & Berries, Blooming Lovely. :)
