MAC Surf Baby Preview Party Review

I have gone to several MAC preview parties in the past and all of them have been super fun for me until this one. Upon coming in, I was told to go line up at a booth where you would get a free shirt to get painted. I observed that people were being handed free blank t-shirts when it was their turn and then they would choose a design which the guy at the booth would paint on using stencils. I thought well that's a fun idea! Wrong.

Shortly after, a mac employee with teal shadow up to her brows (was not a cool look on her Ill be honest) stole the bin of shirts from the booth and approached us saying that we could have our own shirt stenciled but if we wanted a shirt we would have to make a purchase. We were allready in the middle of the line and my friends didn't get a chance to look at the collection yet so they didn't know what they wanted but I did so I went and made a purchase and gave the shirt to my little sister. I was given a shirt and was told the shirts were all one size when they actually had small, medium and larges. Teal lady said they would give them out randomly and she did not wish to bother exchanging the sizes if someone was too big or too small for their shirt.
Actually, she would not even give my friend a free shirt after she made a purchase even though she informed us we would herself, because she was saving it for other people that were apparently way more important than us because they haven't made a purchase yet. Wow.

When my sister made a purchase, a different employee turned to another employee (the one who told me they had one size only)and said "can she get a shirt?" and she replied "no give her a bandana". This white bandana looked liked a napkin you put on your knees at a restaurant. I said "we were told with a purchase we would get a shirt" and she replied "these are my orders" while the crazy teal lady smiled. I didn't bother arguing as I didn't feel like standing 1 hour in line for the booth again and I didn't even care about their cheap shirts but it still irritated me that we were lied to. If you inform a customer one thing, then don't change your words after they made a purchase. The woman who said no was also the same woman who got my sale, but she's not getting another sale from me that's for sure! The shirts were supposed to be a fun thing but it was soo poorly planned and organized that it just made me feel ripped off.

Perhaps, we should have said we want to return all the items or accepted the bandana napkin and used it when the toilet paper ran out I don't know.

Now that I am done ranting, let's move on to the actual products haha:

Overall, the collection was very blah. I much prefered last years To The Beach collection and everyone got cute seashell necklaces.

The stand out for me in this collection is definately Surf the Ocean pigment stack. When you look in the way they are packaged, you may think these are not worth it but the texture of the colors are awesome. They are wet-like and apply very easily even though some look chunky in the pot. I prefer applying them wet as I do with everything these days.

Some people have wondered if their gold shade was supposed to so clumpy but it is due to wet like texture of the pigment which I personally love. I wish MAC would release more of these. It does have an oil like smell to it but I just don't smell it before use as I do with the vanilla smelling lipsticks.

The second item I loved best is the Hibiscus lipstick. It's a cremesheen formula which is my new favourite Mac lipstick formula. It's creamy and builable to opaque. The color is orange-coral-red on me. It's different than Toxic Tale which is more intense and coral on me. Made with love lipstick is more pink coral.

I also got Naturally Eccentric lipstick which I am on the fence about. It looked streaky when I applied it alone and if you swoosh your lips around(which I have a habit of doing), it looks more streaky. I was going to return it but I liked it when I applied a light pink lipgloss on top which helped with the streakyness but Iam unsure still. It makes me look more tan than I am.

The teal shadow is nice if you don't have teals on the green side but really is not all that unique. The color reminded me of my Waternymph shadow which I never use but love. (How does that work? haha).

The Ocean dip nail polish was very watery and for the price I expect the formula to be perfect.

Nothing else stood out to me. I guess the upside of the party was getting buzzed from their watery tequila cocktails and getting my surf the ocean pigment stack.

Here is the booth artist guy. (He was nice.)

Here is the one shirt that I gave to my sister. It's an octopus.

MAC Quite Cute Collection Review + Swatches

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the lipsticks in the Quite Cute Collection! MAC hasn't been very exciting in a while but this collection really tickled my fancy. It is better than Sugarsweet for me. I love how the colors are very cool toned, girly and springy. I have been waiting for colors like Quite Cute and Playtime lipsticks. Quite cute is very fun and Playtime is a very pretty purple with lavender which really refreshes your face. Candy Yum-Yum is a very neon bright barbie pink! It's awesome and stays on for a long time too. It's matte and I prefer to put a lipgloss on top for the glossy effect. I wore it with Almondine gloss to the club and the stain is still on my lips the next morning. Playing Koi is a great nude and I also love it with a gloss. I think of swimming fish everytime I pull it out 'cause of the name obviously.

I am very pale cool toned skin for reference.
I don't find Playtime to be very sheer, you can wear it more subtly or easily layer it to look how it does in the tube. Candy Yum-Yum looks more bright on my lips than it does on my arm swatch.

Vampiric Mermaid Lilith Doll

My Vampire Lilith Doll has arrived! I am very happy to get my hands on her as she is sold out everywhere and I got her for a decent price. There's 300 of these dolls produced. Everyone thinks she's ugly and my boyfriend calls her octopus face haha but I thinks she's awesome and unique.

She reminds me of a vampiric mermaid and I love eyes and clothing. She inspires me to do a mermaidy make-up look which I will post later.

Fiori Dal Doll from my Big Headed Doll Collection

Aside from my make-up hoarding, I collect dolls. I don't know why, but there's something about dolls that I love. I collected Vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls for years and fell in love with these big-headed dolls once I discovered them. Unlike make-up, they do not have an expiration date and only get more valuable with time.
This is a Dal which is a smaller, more pouty version of a Pullip doll (to come later) and her name is Fiori. She is made by the company Jun Planning from an older release and retails for about $80 currently. She is very poseable and her eyes can move from side to side. I particularly love her mini-me doll which reminds me of the movie Coraline which I also adore.

MAC Peacocky collection Looks + Review

I haven't made me MAC purchases since Venomous Villains which is a long stretch for me. The Peacocky collection is the only collection I was lookng forward to as I love mettalic shadows. It did not dissapoint, however I wish some shadows had a more real mettalic shine. I love how they work very well with water. The stars of the collection are Dalliance and Unflappable as they are the most unique to me.

Dalliance and Prance have the same creamy, frosty, buttery texture.
Dalliance is similar to Maui Wowie but way better in texture and has great shine like a pigment when used wet. Prance is more whitish frosty and I haven't decided how well I like it yet.

While Unflappable and Odalisque texture is more hard and not so creamy, it is still of high quality. They are very easy to apply and blend especially with water, and are long lasting. Some people have made the comparison between Birds & Berries and Odalisque but on me they are pretty different colors. Odalisque is more bright teal and Birds & Berries is more dusty bluish. Odalisque actually looked similar in color to UD Flipside Liner on my lids but not to Flipside eye-shadow.

Top of the Posh is a very unique pink. I usually don't wear pinks as they me look sickly but this is one was very cool toned, yet had pretty gold mixed in. It is very pretty but not very metallic and it doesn't like to be layered much.

I LOVE Unflappable!! It's a perfect smoky neutral that I will wear alot. It looks like a plummy cool toned grey on me. Very different from Satin Taupe. People have compared it to Smut which I heard is very hard to blend.
I am wearing Unflappable all over lid here with Dalliance on inner corners.

Here, I am wearing Odalisque all over lid over UD base with Prance on inner corners.( My bf said I looked drunk here haha).

Toxic Tale with Zombie Fingers

Did a subtle, quick look with Toxic Tale lipstick from the Venomous Villains collection. This lipstick is very barbie-coral and more bright in person which makes me love it. It will certainly spice up a neutral look. It's my first time trying the Satin formula and I am quite pleased. Its opaque, has great staying power and feels great on lips. It leaves a stain just like Heartless lipstick after it wears off.

Zombie Cookies!!! Halloween feels like it's coming on way too fast. I love the way these look. Yum!!

She Who Dares done a Heartless Dark Deed ~ Venomous Villains Look

I used: Colorstay Foundation in Ivory, MUFE Lift Concealer, UD Primer Potion, UD pencil in zero, Undercurrent liner, Black shadow from heatherette trio with She Who Dares Green Side MES wet on top, drugstore lashes, Tarte Mascara, Briar Rose on cheeks, Truth & Light powder all over, Heartless Lipstick, Dark Deed lipstick.

Me wearing only Heartless lipstick first.

Then I applied some Dark Deed on top for that vampire post-feasting look. Mt bf even said I looked like I had vampire bloody lips without me telling him so goal achieved. haha

I am wearing She Who Dares on top of the black shadow from the Heatherette trio which is just a normal matte black with some teal flecks. She Who Dares shadow is much more glittery, sparkly, shiny hot when used wet than the dull lighting in the room could capture.

Meet cute little Fedor! He's a (russian?) dwarf hammy who can literally run 30km/h on his wheel. He's super fast and sprints/jumps if startled. It was super hard getting a sharp image of him as he likes to fiddle alot. I gave him the Truth & Light powder box to burrow in. hehe.

I am also wearing Bad Fairy nail polish which is red with beautiful copper/gold but will try to confuse you by turning into raspberry pink under some lighting.
